APC gets first lawmaker in Imo Assembly
The speaker, Imo state House of Assembly, Collins Chiji, on Tuesday swore in, Emeka Nduka, as the lawmaker, representing Ehime Mbano state constituency at the state House of Assembly, Owerri.
Following his inauguration, Nduka becomes the only lawmaker from the All Progressives Congress (APC) stock.
The Court of Appeal sitting in Owerri, had ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return it had issued to former occupant of the seat and candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Mr. Lawman Duruji.
The appellant court contended that Nduka of the All Progressives Congress won the March 2, election in the state constituency.
