Shehu Sani Apologizes To Renowned Actor’s Family Over Posting Insensitive Pictures
The senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has tendered an apology to the family of renowned actor, Kasimu Yero over the posting of insensitive pictures of the actor who is battling with an undisclosed illness on Sunday.
The pictures of the actor in shorts exposing his frail body shared by Senator Sani did not go well with the family, which they condemned it as invading his privacy for political reasons and demeaning of their family as not responsible for his upkeep.
Kasimu Yero on Tuesday denied soliciting for public support and also expressed shock over how his picture was shared by the lawmaker on social media.
Shehu Sani in his apology to the family issued by his aide Suleiman Ahmed said:
“The attention of Distinguish Senator Shehu Sani has been drawn to a statement credited to some members of the family of Alhaji Kasimu Yaro over the visit of the Senator to his residence at Marafa Kaduna on June 11, 2017. The visit was conducted with two journalists from Rariya and Daily Trust and in the presence of one of Kasimu Yaro’s daughter.”
Sani who apologized to the family said:
“The Senator wishes to reiterate that the visit was not meant to ridicule the family of Alhaji Kasimu Yaro or belittle their responsibility and catering of him, in this regard, we wish to apologize to the family if the visit had portrayed them in a bad light.”
