Disappointed Lai Mohammed In Terrible Shock Over Buhari Broadcast, Switches Off His Phones
The controversial Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, is still in shock, following the dust raised by President Muhammadu Buhari’s first speech to the nation in 50 days.
All efforts made by Post-Nigeria to reach the Honourable Minister since on Sunday, to react to the President’s nationwide broadcast, which was aired in Hausa language proved abortive, as all his phone lines have been unavailable and switched off.
Recall, that in the one minute two seconds audio aired by BBC, Buhari whose voice was frail, spoke in Hausa language, to the shock of Nigerians.
However, despite the widespread criticism, the Presidency has declined to react for the purpose of putting the record straight.
A source close to Lai Mohammed, said that the Minister is still finding it difficult to come up with an acceptable “lie”, to defend the confusion created by Buhari’s handlers, in making the President to address the nation in Hausa language.
“Buhari’s action made no sense, hence Mr. Lai Mohammed has been boxed to a corner. To avoid more controversy, he has no option than to switch his off his phones”, the source alleged.
He added: “Nigerians need to give Lai Mohammed some time to come up with a refined lie, in defence of his boss.”
Meanwhile, Buhari’s action has angered many Nigerians, who took to the social media to express their reservations.
The two Presidential Spokesmen, Garba Shehu and Femi Adesina, have declined to react to the broadcast as well.
